About us

We are the frontline authority in regulating and monitoring criminal activity on the Atlantic Ocean. Our mission is to ensure that the Atlantic remains a safe, secure, and lawful maritime domain for international trade, travel, and coastal communities. With jurisdiction across key Atlantic shipping lanes and coastal zones, we work hand-in-hand with naval forces, coast guards, intelligence agencies, and international maritime organizations to detect, intercept, and prosecute all forms of sea-based crime.

America is a maritime nation. Since before our Nation’s inception, the Navy has sailed the globe in defense of freedom. Beginning in January 2025, the Navy celebrates its 250th birthday with a series of commemorative events, multilateral exercises, and community engagements.
